Tuition Rebate

Tuition rebates are processed 60 days following graduation. Tuition rebates shall be reduced by the amount of any outstanding balance on the student account, outstanding student loan, including an emergency loan, owed to or guaranteed by the State of Texas, including the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation.


To view the status of your tuition rebate:

  • Sign in to Howdy
  • Search for “Undergraduate Tuition Rebate”
  • This will take you to “My Dashboard”
  • Select the “Finances” dropdown
  • Click on the Tuition Rebate link
  • Once your tuition rebate has been approved, the $1000.00 payment will be posted to your student account with the following description -Undergraduate Tuition Rebate.
  • To view your student account from Howdy:
  • Click on the "Payment/Refund (Student Access)" card
  • Click on the "Account Activity Tab” and then Show Details on “Payments & Credits” 


After the tuition rebate is applied to charges on your student account, any remaining credit will be disbursed according to state regulations:


 

You will see one of the following on your student account:

  • Student Account Refund - This means the credit was refunded to you.
  • Tuit Reb Returned to TAMU Loan - This means the credit was applied to an outstanding loan owed to the university. For more information, contact the Student Loan Administration at loans@tamu.edu.
  • Tuit Rebate Returned to Lender - This means the credit will be sent to an outstanding federal loan. For more information, contact Scholarships and Financial Aid at financialaid@tamu.edu.
