Tuition Rate Code Explanations

The first three characters indicate whether the tuition rate code is locked or variable.

TLR stands for Tuition Locked Rate.

TVR stands for Tuition Variable Rate.

The last four characters of the Locked Rate tuition codes indicate the year the student first entered any institution of higher education after high school. TAMU has restructured its tuition and fee rates by major rather than by college. If you are in this group or newer, you will see a _B, or an _M, or an _A after the locked cohort year. This indicates your major falls into the Base, the Math and Science Intensive, or the Applied Sciences rate structure.
