Payment Plan

Tuition, most required fees, room, board, and parking are included in the payment plan which consists of four auto-scheduled payments throughout the semester. You will not be able to select between the Payment Plan or the Payment in Full until your bill statement becomes available on the date indicated on the Student Business Services Due Dates webpage.


A $50 service charge to cover the cost for handling will be assessed to each student choosing to sign up for the payment plan at the beginning of each semester.


Students can pay in advance at any time during a semester; however, the service charge will not be refunded. Students who wish to sign up for the payment plan can select this option through the Howdy Portal on the My Finances tab. The Payment Plan is an option that students can sign up for at the beginning of each semester. Under this plan, there are penalties for missing a payment by the specified due dates. Student Business Services assesses a late payment penalty for each payment not received on or before its payment due date. 


Students may also be subject to late registration charges and cancellation of courses if a scheduled payment under this plan is rejected, meaning there were insufficient funds in the account. 


Steps to Sign Up for the Payment Plan

  • Log in to the secure Howdy Portal and click on the Tuition Payment icon, or go directly to the Bill Payment Suite at billpay.tamu.edu
  • Go to the Account Summary tab and select Enroll in Plan.
  • Select a payment plan offer Term.
  • Under the Payment Method tab, select a payment method by Adding New Bank Account (eCheck) or Adding New
  • Credit/Debit Card, then click on Continue.
  • Under Payment Method, enter the requested payment information such as the Name, the Card Number, or the Account and Routing Number, depending on the method of payment you chose. Then select Continue.
  • Review the information entered, check the "I agree to these Payment Terms & Conditions" box, then click on Activate.
  • Print your Activation Receipt for your record.
