Withdrawing vs. Dropping

Modified on Thu, 15 Jun, 2023 at 3:17 PM

During open registration, which is through the first five class days of the fall/spring semesters and the first four class days of summer, you may drop a class using Howdy by selecting the "My Finances" tab.

You may drop classes with special permission from the dean through the 12th class day of fall, spring, or 10-week summer term. After these dates, you need to go to your department and request a Q-drop (Q-dropped classes are not refundable). Any refunds for classes dropped on or before the 5th class day will be generated after the 5th class day.

Withdrawing is completely canceling registration and not attending classes at Texas A&M University. For additional information about withdrawing after classes begin, visit "Withdrawing from the University".
