Perkins Loan

Modified on Thu, 15 Jun, 2023 at 2:44 PM

The Federal Perkins Loan Program provided low-interest federal student loans for undergraduate and graduate students with exceptional financial need. The loans were funded by the federal government but the school acts as the lender.

Important: Under federal law, the authority for schools to make new Perkins Loans ended on Sept. 30, 2017, and final disbursements were permitted through June 30, 2018. As a result, students can no longer receive Perkins Loans.

Paying back your Perkins Loan: Perkins loans are administered by ECSI, a loan servicer. Please login to the ECSI website (https://heartland.ecsi.net/) to make a payment or contact ECSI for additional questions: 1-888-549-3274

(Texas A&M University ECSI School Code is RM)
