Reasons for Receiving a Refund

There are many different reasons a student might be eligible for a refund. To view a refund description, you must have previously set up Direct Deposit with Flywire.

Click here to learn how to sign up for Direct Deposit and eRefunds with Flywire if you haven't done it already.

To view a description of your refund, do the following:

  • Login to Howdy using your NetID and password
  • Select the "Payment/Refund" icon to be directed to the Bill Payment Suite
  • Go to the eRefunds tab and find your refund information there

Several types of refunds generate from your student account.

Financial aid refunds begin generating approximately one week before classes start each semester. Examples of financial aid refunds are:

  • CR40 Title IV Financial Aid Refund - a refund generated from federal financial aid funds
  • CR41 Title IV Plus Loan Refund - a refund generated to the student from a federal Parent Plus loan
  • CR02 Title IV Plus Loan Refund-Parent - a refund generated to the parent from a federal Parent Plus loan
  • CRS0 Non-Title IV FinAid Auto Refund - a refund generated from non-federal financial aid (e.g. scholarships, state grants, state loans, alternative loans, stipends/fellowships, etc.)

Student account refunds are generated from credits such as dropped classes, optional charges, or overpayment to the student account. Student account refunds begin after the add/drop period ends each semester. If a credit remains unrefunded on your student account for more than two business days after the add/drop period ends, please email us at refunds@tamu.edu
